About the Performers
Founded in 2011 by period-instrument specialists David McCormick (baroque violin), Fiona Hughes (baroque violin), and Anne Timberlake (recorder), Three Notch'd Road: The Charlottesvile Baroque Ensemble is named for a major colonial roadway that once spanned much of central Virginia. The group, lauded for its stylish performances, brings an exciting and informed approach to music of the Baroque era.
Three Notch'd Road has appeared as part of the Tuesday Concert Series at the Church of the Epiphany (Washington, D.C.), the Good Shepherd Music Festival (Richmond, VA), and the Bach-Handel Festival (Winchester, VA), performing alongside baroque dancer Paige Whitley-Bauguess and countertenor Charles Humphries. In December 2012, Three Notch'd Road performed music of Bach, Vivaldi, and Charpentier with the University of Virginia Chamber Singers. Recently, the ensemble presented a program featuring the music of Salamone Rossi for the Italian Embassy in Washington, D.C.
