Recognized internationally as one of the leading saxophone virtuosos of our time, Gary Louie possesses a lively interpretive imagination coupled with a refreshing, understated artistry. These qualities, along with a supple tone, have earned acclaim from audiences and critics alike. The New York Times described Mr. Louie as "an artist and a phraser." A reviewer for The Baltimore Sun wrote that he "communicated with stunning technical brilliance and expressive power."
Mr. Louie has performed at such venues as Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Internationally he has performed in Paris, Rome, St. Petersburg, and Hong Kong, as well as throughout Spain and Germany.
