Black / Africana Studies
With the support of Professor Joel Schwartz, now former director of the Charles Center, the establishment of BLST, subsequently AFST, was a team effort that began many years before it came to fruition in 1997. Among those pictured here are two of the "pioneers": Professors Braxton (1980-Present) and Abegaz (1982-Present), who were also pioneering Black faculty.
