Each issue we highlight 10 individuals who have been selected for recognition by W&M community members for their leadership in fostering diversity on campus. Nominations can be submitted online each month.

This was William & Mary’s first year of participation in the Southern Regional Educational Board (SREB), but definitely not the last. The goal is to assist academic departments with increasing their applicant pools for faculty positions.

Africana Studies inaugurated its annual Alumni Lecture on October 18 by welcoming Dr. Corey D. B. Walker (Ph.D. in American Studies, 2001), the new Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Winston Salem State University.
... the Faculty Assembly of the College of William & Mary resolves that all benefits associated with employment at the College of William & Mary should be extended to all employees as appropriate to their employment status, without regard to sexual orientation or gender identity.

Reves Hall is W&M's own "Global Village," for all students (international and domestic) with an interest in international affairs. Attend an open house at Reves Hall on Saturday, January 25 and apply by February 5.

In August, the Office of Diversity & Equal Opportunity launched an online training for faculty, staff and students on preventing workplace discrimination, harassment and retaliation.
On November 9th, Women in Scientific Education (WISE) hosted the 2nd Annual Women’s Faculty Retreat at VIMS.
