Mary Quattlebaum '80 (BA) I'm now an author of 18 children's books (and also teach creative writing). My psychology degree, with special focus, thanks to Dr. Debbie Hartley, on developmental psychology and language acquisition, has proved wonderfully helpful over the years. Three new books are forthcoming in 2011-- "Pirate vs. Pirate", "The Hungry Ghost of Rue Orleans", and "Jo MacDonald Saw a Pond" --and I'll start teaching in January at Vermont College's MFA program in writing for children and young adults. www.maryquattlebaum.com (11/10)
Lisa Hinz '81 (BS) I recently published the book, "Expressive Therapies Continuum: A Framework for Using Art in Therapy." I am an adjunct professor of art therapy at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana. (3/11)
Susan Harris '82 (MA) After graduate school, I went to law school and now work in state government. My son, Alan Harris is a freshman at William and Mary. Coincidentally, he is taking his second class from John Nezlek. Professor Nezlek was a member of my thesis committee at William and Mary (along with Virgil McKenna and Professor Friedman). It seems to me that it is a very small world indeed! Thanks. (3/11)
Carol Rousseau '85 (AB) Completed my clinical doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) at Salus University in Spring 2009. Previously obtained M.A. in Audiology at the University of Texas-Austin in 2003. Currently working as a Senior Clinical Audiologist at Rochester Hearing and Speech Center in Rochester, NY. (10/09)
Cheryl Toth '88 (BA) Congratulations on the move to the new building and continued success with being one of the most popular degrees at graduation. My W&M Psychology degree opened many doors as I pursued my career. It was the dedication and commitment from professors like Dr. Nezlek and Dr. Galano (and Dr. Derks) that inspired me to pursue and attain a Ph.D. in Industrial / Organizational Psychology at the Univ. of Georgia. I now work at IBM as a global manager for Workforce Research and Analytics in the HR division. I manage a team of folks based in the US, Europe and Asia. I know that a big factor in my hiring many years ago was the reputation of W&M for educating some of the best and brightest and providing a solid, top-tier liberal arts education.
