Barbara Keller BA '72 MA '75 Barbara Keller, Ph.D. and Licensed Clinical Psychologist, earned her BA in 1972, a master's in Special Education in 1973, and a master's in General Psychology in 1975 -- all from William and Mary -- and went on to earn a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology and completed postdoctoral Cross-Training in School/Child/Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia. She now conducts a private practice in Alexandria, Virginia, specializing in psychoeducational assessment and cognitive testing of children. (12/17)

Debbie Dalton '72 (BS) After deserting psychology for a graduate degree in environmental biology from UVA and working for EPA for 15 years as a scientist, I made a change in 1986 to being a mediator and facilitator for conflict resolution in the environmental field. Finally, my degree in psychology, especially the courses in small group psychology became relevant and even useful (much to my parents surprise and relief!). Over the past 22 years I have helped EPA interact with environmental and industrial stakeholders on everything from regulations to permits to cleanup of hazardous waste sites. Who knew??!! I would love to hear from Michael Bauer, who was a grad student in '72 if anyone knows where he is. (3/11)
Nancy L. (Stone) Johnston '74 (BA) Now I have another book out, My Life as a Border Collie: Freedom from Codependency. As you may have heard, we learned last week that this book has been named as a Publishers Weekly Editors' Pick:Notable Book for Fall 2012. We are very pleased with this honor.

Nancy L. (Stone) Johnston '74 (BA) I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner in private practice in Lexington, VA. I have been a practicing clinician for 35 years. I know I have written to you before, letting you know about my book, Disentangle, When You've Lost Your Self in Someone Else, released by Central Recovery Press in March, 2011. I am writing to you again to let the Psychology Department know that I am going to be doing a book signing over homecoming week-end. I will be signing books at the W&M/Barnes & Noble Bookstore on Duke of Gloucester Street on Friday, October 21, 2011, 10am-1pm. I did such a signing there this past July and have been invited back by the store for Homecoming. I wanted you to know what one of your graduates is doing and invite you to come by on the day of the signing to meet each other. I have attached thepress release (pdf) for the book to give you more information about this book which is for both the general public as well as professionals. Janet Muse '75 (BS) I am a Case Manager with Care Connection for Children, working with families who have children with special health needs, helping them navigate medical, social, whatever systems they encounter. Anne (Weekley) Thompson '77 (BS) I won't be able to attend homecoming this year, so this feature is most welcome! I teach in the physical therapy program at Armstrong Atlantic State University. Elizabeth (Howell) Groundwater '78 (BS) Utilizing the Computer Science part of my W&M double major, I worked as a software engineer and software project manager until 1999. Then I retired to pursue my dream of becoming a mystery author. I've now published two books, have two in production, and hope to continue to write books in two series: the Claire Hanover gift basket designer series and the Rocky Mountain Outdoor Adventure series starring whitewater river ranger Mandy Tanner. I use the Psychology part of my double major all the time while writing these books and delving into how suspects and murderers think and feel. (11/10)
Julie Williams '79 (BA) Greetings from the State of New Hampshire, where I serve as the Senior Vice Provost for Engagement and Academic Outreach at the University of New Hampshire (UNH). I graduated from William and Mary in 1979 and went on to get my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Tennessee in 1986. I have held faculty and administrative posts at the University of Tennessee (UT), UT Medical Center, Knoxville College, Virginia Commonwealth University and have been at UNH for the last eight years. Here at UNH, I am responsible for the University's public engagement mission, defined as "engagement through research and scholarship." I work closely with faculty to catalyze and support externally funded education and research programs that seek to enhance our mutually beneficial partnerships with external collaborators locally, nationally and globally. Over the last eight years, I have had increasingly broader connections to programs and personnel at the National Science Foundation, and I spend time regularly in Washington DC. In 2006, I also had the pleasure of serving as an American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow at William and Mary and spent time in South Africa.
