Employee Wellness Program
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
All health plans offered to state employees and their dependents have employee assistance programs (EAPs). Included are up to four sessions at no charge for such services as mental health, alcohol or drug abuse assessment, child or elder care, grief counseling and legal or financial services. In general, care must be authorized in advance. You or your eligible dependent will speak to an EAP specialist who will assess your problem and coordinate assistance.

DHRM at its discretion posts information received from vendors that provide discounts to all state employees. Discounted products and services are provided at no cost to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Smart Shopper
COVA Care, COVA HDHP and COVA HealthAware members are eligible for the Shared Savings Program. These incentive programs offer cash reward to members when they shop for better-value health care services. Not every facility will bring a reward. The programs are strictly voluntary.
