Davide Giovannelli, Commander in Italian Navy (OF-4), joined the CCDCOE in August 2021 as Researcher in the Law Branch.
He attended the Italian Naval Academy in Livorno and was commissioned with the rank of Ensign in 2004. During the 2020-2021 academic year he attended the 23rd Joint Services Staff Course held by the Joint Services Staff College in Rome.
Prior to assuming his current position, Commander Giovannelli served in many areas of military legal counselling. In that framework he worked as Legal Advisor of several operations (NATO Allied Provider and Unified Protector, United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, EU Naval Operation ATALANTA and SOPHIA) as well as within the Navy and Defence General Staff.
He has a Master Degree in Law from Pisa University and a LLM from LUISS University.
