David M. Rowe is a Professor of Political Science at Kenyon College. He is a former director of Kenyon’s Center for the Study of American Democracy. In 2022-23, he was a Fulbright NATO Security Studies Scholar in Brussels. He has also been the Fulbright Distinguished Chair at the University of Innsbruck, a fellow of the John M. Olin Institute for Strategic Studies at Harvard University, a SSRC-MacArthur Foundation Fellow in International Peace and Security and held research grants from the Pew Memorial Trust and the National Science Foundation. His current research explores the role of violence in sustaining peaceful ordered societies.
