Parents & Families
Many of our services in the University Registrar’s Office affect family members as well as our students. One Tribe! Here are a few topics that may be of importance to you, and we welcome your calls or visits with other questions.
Domicile / In-State Tuition
Our office determines a student’s eligibility for in-state tuition undergraduate rates according to the Code of Virginia. Undergraduate students under age 24 are rebuttably presumed to be dependent on their parents or legal guardians, unless they show otherwise, so in most cases, undergrads take the residency status of their parents.
Families of New Freshmen and Transfers
Welcome to the Tribe Family! You’re encouraged to review the Tribe Guide with your student, as well as our other resources linked on this page.
Academic Calendars
We offer one page PDF documents of each year's undergraduate academic calendars as well as a detailed events system that will show academic dates and more.
Access to Your Student's Academic Record
Access to academic records is governed by FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).
Veterans Benefits
Our office certifies eligibility to the Veterans’ Administration.
