Student Internship Opportunities for Workday Transition Project
W&M Information Technology is looking for two motivated and enthusiastic student interns to work on the Workday transition project with our HR, Finance, and IT implementation teams.
In February, President Rowe announced that the university would transition from Banner to Workday as its new Enterprise Resource Planning system. The project aims to migrate our current systems and processes to Workday and improve our efficiency and effectiveness.
The internship will occur during the summer and last 8-12 weeks, starting in May/June 2024, and will require about 30 hours of work per week. The interns will receive a competitive stipend and a certificate of completion at the end of the project. Federal Work-Study-eligible students are encouraged to apply.
Positions and Duties
The interns will work with the various functional teams in the support of the of the Workday project. The interns will also assist with the documentation of processes and policies, the preparation of the training materials and the communication plan, and the facilitation of the change management activities. The interns will be expected to attend and take minutes of the team meetings and provide regular updates on the project status and issues.
Qualifications and Skills
To be eligible for the internship, you must:
- Be a current student enrolled in a relevant degree program, such as Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Computer Science.
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing.
- Have a strong interest and curiosity in Workday and its functionalities.
- Have excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Have basic knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Have prior experience or exposure to Workday or similar software platforms is an asset, but not required.
Pay Per Hour
- $15/hour
