Road to Richmond
Each year, the President’s Office and the Office of Government & External Affairs sponsor a trip to Richmond during the legislative session. The event includes remarks and Q&As from members and staff of the Virginia General Assembly, representatives of the Governor’s Office, and a young W&M alumni panel. It is a great networking opportunity for students to meet W&M alumni working in state government.
This outing is a valuable experience to make connections and get more involved in state politics by talking to elected officials about issues that truly matter to William & Mary. Students serve as vital advocates on issues impacting higher education, such as faculty and staff raises, increasing need-based financial aid, and more.
