Travel Requirements to the United Kingdom - January 2025
Full Description
Starting on January, 8, 2025, travelers from eligible non-European countries, including the U.S., will be required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to enter connect/transit through the United Kingdom.
The ETA costs £10 (approximately USD 13) and will be valid for two years, permitting multiple visits to the UK within that period. The application process opened on November 27, 2024. Please note that processing times may take up to three business days.
It is strongly recommended that travelers apply for the ETA as soon as possible to ensure a smooth entry process. If travelers have existing bookings through full-service agents, they should have already been notified for the ETA requirement.

The ETA fee is reimbursable for any traveler on university business. It will be reimbursed in Chrome River under the Visa expense type.
