Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act
William & Mary complies with all federal and state regulations pertaining to the abuse of controlled substances including the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act of 1989 and the Department of Human Resource Management's Policy Number 1.05 - Alcohol and Other Drugs.
The U.S. Department of Education's Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (20 U.S.C. § 1011i) requires that institutions of higher education review their alcohol and other drug use polices and programs every two years. The 2024 Report (pdf) is available for review.
Annual compliance notices are provided to students and employees on or around September 15 each year.
