About the Program
Gain an understanding of Italian language and culture. Italian studies allows you to study Italian language at all levels with some courses taught in English. The courses cross interdisciplinary boundaries to examine sociological, cultural and historical topics that are both specific to Italy and resonate universally. You can explore current topics such as migration and multiculturalism. This minor can enhance your studies in art & art history, international relations, American studies, music and film & media studies.

Start with the first-year seminar, Utopia and Dystopia (ITAL 100), then learn about topics such as Italian Language Through Film (ITAL 206) and Postcolonial Literature (ITAL 317).*

Work with the Reves Center to find a study abroad program in Italy that aligns with your interests. Previous study abroad trips have included the Amalfi Coast and Venice.
