Project Details
According to the Princeton Eviction Lab, five of the nation's top ten cities for eviction are in Virginia: Richmond, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, and Chesapeake; Virginia Beach is number 15 on the list. As the Sharpe Associate Professor of Civic Renewal and Entrepreneurship, Professor Hanley is working with community partners and W&M students on research to address the Virginia eviction crisis. Our research aims to document local inequalities related to eviction and understand how courts work together with the legal aid community to advance justice.
