Undergraduate Program
The Department of Psychological Sciences presents the study of psychology as both a natural and a social science. We offer both a B.A. and a B.S. in Psychology. In our courses, you will explore the relationship between theory, research, and application of scientific principles. Your coursework will include training in ethics, laboratory skills, and practical applications. Our classes cover topics such as
- human development,
- psychopathology,
- learning,
- personality and motivation,
- physiology,
- social behavior,
- community and health psychology,
- statistics, and
- research methods.
You may declare a B.A., B.S., or a minor in Psychology. You don't have to declare a degree to benefit from our courses: non-majors often take courses that complement other disciplines.
You can plan your coursework with an eye to going into a career or into graduate school. We have a network of alumni who are happy to discuss how their W&M experiences have helped them along their paths.
