Summer Grants, Fellowships, Internships and other Opportunities

On-Campus Summer Research Grants

William and Mary offers scholarships to fund summer research on campus; free housing will also be provided. Most awards are $3,000 to support seven full-time weeks of research. If you are interested in applying for this grant, contact a professor whose lab you are working in or whose research area sounds interesting to you. You will work with your professor to agree on a summer project and the professor will supervise you in preparing the grant application and will oversee your summer research. The application for these grants includes a 3-page project proposal, a 2-page personal statement, and a letter of recommendation from your advisor. We recommend that you begin working on this in January, as applications are due at the end of February.

Off-Campus Summer Grants, Fellowships, Internships, and Other Opportunities

Below you will find information and links to off-campus summer experiences in the psychological sciences and related fields. We recommend that you begin preparing for these opportunities early, as many applications require a personal statement and one or more letters of recommendation from faculty. We encourage you to meet with your faculty advisor or one of your psychology professors for advice on your application. You can also use the Writing Center to help with your statement; there are also online resources.

Be sure to check the requirements and due dates on each individual application, as they will differ.
