German House
The German House ("Das Haus") offers students the opportunity to experience German culture on campus. Moving to Hardy Hall beginning in Fall 2020, the German House is part of a language house community comprising eight residence halls dedicated to language improvement and cultural exchange.
The German House is not only a great place for students to live on campus, but it is also the site of weekly events organized by the German Language House International Fellow, a native speaker. At the House, students can participate in scheduled conversation hours or get individual tutoring to improve their German language skills. Moreover, the House offers a wide range of cultural events including but not limited to cooking events, movie nights, field trips, discussions of current events as well as big festivities like an Oktoberfest-themed barbecue in the fall. Students not only enjoy the sense of community that prevails at the German House, but with its weekly Kaffeeklatsch (coffee hour), the House has also become a refuge for students to unwind after a long week of studying.
