John H. Willis, Jr. Scholarship
The John H. Willis, Jr. Scholarship for rising juniors and rising seniors majoring in English was established by Anne Willis and her family to honor John Willis, a distinguished professor and scholar of modern literature who taught in the William and Mary English Department from 1959 to 2002. One merit-based scholarship is awarded at the end of each academic year to support a student’s academic enrichment through experiences such as honors research, archival travel, and study abroad. Applicants submit a 200-word proposal along with a transcript of grades by the end of March to the English Department’s office manager.
