Sustaina-bite is a monthly lunchtime discussion featuring a university expert and their area through the lens of sustainability. As a lens, sustainability can be applied to any topic!
Presenters draw connections between their expertise and the broader environment, society and economy. From global to your front door, learn how these topics are connected to the bigger picture and to you. Attendees leave with an understanding of the connectivity of the world, and their place within it.
Meant for students, faculty, staff, and the broader community, all are welcome. Please register in advance.

Single-Use Plastics & Executive Order 77W&M has been reducing the purchase and use of single-use plastics for some time as part of sustainability efforts. Governor Northam's Executive Order 77, focused on eliminating certain types of single-use plastics and styrofoam, was announced in spring of 2021 and aligns well with our sustainability plans and goals. Dave Zoll, the sourcing analyst with the Procurement Services Office, and Eden Harris, the Associate Director of Marketing, Administration and Licensing at Auxiliary Services will be speaking on the matter.
