SAS Summer Connections Program 2025
SAS Summer Connections Program
Building Bridges of Connection
The SAS Summer Connections Program is a week-long supportive experience for incoming students to help them prepare for their arrival in the fall. The program provides an introduction to academic life, an acclimation to the campus, a chance to make social connections, learn advocacy skills, and practice essential college life skills.
We have created this specifically for students with disabilities, and our trained staff are familiar with their needs.
During the program, students will engage in mock class sessions, interact with peer leaders, and engage in social outings to build community and relationships. Participants will also be provided the opportunity to become familiar with numerous campus resources.
Schedule Highlights
- Introduction to Student Accessibility Services resources and staff
- Guidance on how to set up accommodations for the fall semester
- Academic and life skills sessions--navigating life as a college student
- Sit in on an academic course--learn what a typical college course looks like and receive tips on how to prepare for classes
- Tours of campus, including the Sadler Center and Swem Library
- Exploration of the resources available at the Career Center
- Presentations from Academic Wellbeing, Student Leadership Development, and Care Support Services

2025 Program Dates

How and When to Apply
Applications will open in April 2025.
The program can accommodate up to 20 students, and we will accept participants on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage students to apply as soon as the application opens in April 2025.
Accepted students will be sent instructions for payment of the program fee (see below)--payment must be received by June 6, 2025.
If we receive more than 20 applications, we will maintain a wait-list and will notify wait-listed students on June 9, 2025--if we have fewer than 20 registered students at that point, we will permit wait-listed students to secure a spot by paying the program fee in the order their application was received.
Program Cost
The cost of the program is $99. The fee includes room, food, and scheduled outings.
Financial assistance is available for students with demonstrated financial need (for example, Pell Grant and other grant recipients). Please email sas@wm.edu to inquire about financial assistance.
