Due to the high cost of health care in the US, every student and scholar is required to have a health insurance plan that is approved by William & Mary.
Student Health Insurance
The university requires all full-time undergraduate and graduate students and all F-1 or J-1 international students to have health insurance coverage throughout the entire school year as a condition of enrollment due to the extremely high cost of health care and the importance of adequate health insurance coverage.
Insurance is not required for family members in F-2 status, however, we highly recommend that all family members have insurance coverage.
Scholar Health Insurance
Federal law requires that all persons in J-1 and J-2 status maintain adequate health insurance for the duration of their stay in the US.
