Removing Your Mitel Phone

Summary

For campus phone lines that have been converted to Teams Calls, the old Mitel phones can now be removed.

Full Description

Good news! Mitel phones can now be removed from desks once lines have been converted to Teams Calls.  Please follow the instruction below for removing the phones and collecting them for pick-up.

Select one network cable to go from the wall-mounted outlet to the computer. (Click image to enlarge)Remove the Mitel Phone from your Desk

The current set up of Mitel phones uses two network cables.  With Teams Calls, you only need one network cable that connects from the wall-mounted network box to your computer. You can use either of the two network cables, as long as they reach. With laptops, you may prefer to use wifi.

  1. Disconnect the network cables from the back of the Mitel phone
  2. Select one of cables to run from your computer to the wall-mounted network box and make the connection. (Generally the longer of the two cables would be the best to use for this purpose.)
  3. Disconnect the remaining network cable and either save or return with your phone.

If you do not have a cable that is long enough to reach the computer without passing through the phone, keep your Mitel phone connected and contact [[support]].
