Changes regarding network storage drives

IT has kicked off a project to retire legacy local storage and move to modern cloud storage.
Full Description
An upcoming university technology project will have an impact on your network storage drives. W&M Information Technology is beginning the process of moving from local storage (H: drives) to Microsoft OneDrive. The university strives to find new ways to take a cloud-first approach to technology, and this change will allow W&M to do that while maximizing the return on investment in our Microsoft O365 license, additionally allowing for increased benefits and improved efficiency for users and administrators. Google drives will not be impacted by this change.
How to prepare for the migration
- Only content that needs to be migrated should be migrated. Please take some time to clean out your H: drive to prepare it for migration.
Group Drives
G: drive data will be migrating to Microsoft Office 365 beginning in August. Each department will be contacted before their migration date. We anticipate all group drives to be migrated early 2024.
