From the Law School
In February, the Law School hosted the first African-American Law Alumni Reunion. The weekend marked the 60th Anniversary of the first black graduate of William & Mary, Edward Travis, ’54. The weekend drew over 70 alumni and guests and included a program of speakers and panels, as well as an opportunity to network with current W&M Law students. The annual BLSA Oliver Hill Dinner was also held during the weekend. For a pictorial recap of the weekend, please visit the celebration website.

The American Bar Association’s Commission on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity recently singled out 9 law schools for taking extra steps to be more inclusive of LGBT students by establishing associations or forums designed to enhance educational opportunities for these students. William & Mary Law School was one of the 9 law schools singled out by the ABA for special praise.
