Supplier Diversity

Supplier Diversity @ W&M

Small, Women-, and Minority-owned (SWaM) Businesses

Did you know that approximately 90% of Virginia based businesses are small businesses and that SWaM businesses are the source of most new jobs in Virginia?  By supporting our SWaM businesses we contribute to stimulating Virginia’s economy as well as encouraging business growth and development in the state in which we work, and in many cases, where we live.

Supporting SWaM businesses helps ensure there are consumer choices and diversity for various purchases.

Virginia's SWaM program was established in 2006 to enhance business opportunities for SWaM businesses.  In order for a vendor to be recognized as a SWaM vendor by the Commonwealth, the vendor must be certified through the Virginia Department of Small Business & Supplier Diversity (DSBSD). Certification information may be found at DSBSD's website. Please contact Marra Austin [[maaustin]] with any questions or concerns regarding SWaM certification.
