Student Advisory Councils

The  Advisory Councils are forums for collaborative dialogue between current students and the Student Success staff.

The 1st Year Council meets monthly to grow and hone leadership skills and the art of committee work. Students will engage in leadership-building techniques and discussions about current university topics.

Council. (Monthly) Meets to discuss current ideas, insights, and concerns, and brainstorm potential solutions. The council provides the student body opportunities to meet, collaborate, and work through issues related to student success, student well-being, and campus climate. As a group, topics will be generated, projects collaboratively engaged in and at times special guests will be invited to participate.

One charge of the council is to increase awareness about resources, supports, and services that are available through the Student Success Thematic Area and the University as a whole.

Each Council is comprised of 12 current student representatives from a wide variety of majors, organizations, and affiliations across campus. Invitations to apply are open to any current student. Councils meet monthly for an hour in the evening – ability to be present at the majority of meetings is required.
