Spring 2010 Program Scholars

	Kat Bernardo '11 Kat Bernardo is a junior International Relations major and Russian Studies minor at the College. She is an active member of AIDSTanzania and the social sorority Kappa Delta. She is from Fairfax, VA, and hopes to find a career in the foreign service. In her free time, Kat enjoys dining out and being outdoors. Kat is interning at the U.S. Department of Commerce.
	Elizabeth Bolton '11 Elizabeth Bolton is a junior International Relations major and French minor. On campus, she participates in the READ Adopt-a-Grandparent Program, Reformed University Fellowship, and the French Honor Society, Pi Delta Phi. Elizabeth is from Ashburn, VA. When not in class, she enjoys meeting new people, attending jazz concerts, reading The Economist, and dreaming of her next trip to Paris. Elizabeth is interning at the U.S. Department of State: SEED Division.
	Hillary Bray '11 Hillary Bray is a sophomore Government and History double major at the College. She is involved with numerous organizations on campus including Relay for Life, the Alan Buzkin Bone Marrow Drive, and the social sorority Gamma Phi Beta. She is from Fairfax, VA, and plans on going to law school in Chicago or New York after graduation. She loves trips to Starbucks, hanging out at the beach, and going on runs through Colonial Williamsburg. Hillary is interning at the Office of Senator Barbara Boxer.
	Danny Fullerton '11 Danny Fullerton is a junior Government and Economics double major. He is an active member of the outdoors club on campus, and is a leader in the Boy Scouts off campus. He is from Forest, VA, and hopes to continue on to law school after graduation. In his free time, Danny enjoys backpacking, skiing, baseball, reading good books, concerts, and road trips with friends. Danny is interning at the Heritage Foundation.
	Kristen Hamel '12 Kristen Hamel is a sophomore International Relations and Finance double major at the College. She is involved in many activities around campus, including the Varsity Golf team, mentoring high school students, and the campus chapter of Invisible Children. Kristen is from St. Louis, Missouri, and loves being out on the east coast. In her spare time, she enjoys golfing, shopping, running, and photography. Kristen is interning at the Center for American Progress.
	Devin Hernandez Devin Hernandez is a sophomore Government major and Economics minor. He is originally from Chantilly, Virginia. Devin is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. He is particularly interested in national-level policy and defense issues. In his free time, Devin enjoys reading, science fiction, and the History Channel. Devin is interning at the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Political-Military Affairs.
	Phil Hernandez '10 Phil Hernandez is a senior at the College of William in Mary majoring in Government and Music. He has been involved in a wide range of campus activities, including the Student Environmental Action Coalition (SEAC), College Partnership for Kids (CPK), and the William and Mary Jazz Ensemble. He has also studied abroad at Oxford University in England. After graduation, Phil plans to pursue a law degree and a master's degree in Public Policy. Phil is interning at the White House: Office of Energy and Climate Change.
	Ranga Jayawardena '12 Ranga Jayawardena is a sophomore Accounting and Finance major. He is an active member of the social fraternity Sigma Chi. He is from Holmdel, New Jersey, and hopes to be employed in Washington, DC or New York City after graduation. He also hopes to obtain an MBA from UPenn or Georgetown University. He is of Sri Lankan heritage and keeps an active interest in Buddhism. In his free time, Ranga enjoys playing basketball, reading, spending time with friends, and watching sports games. Ranga is interning at the Asia Foundation.
	Clara Kim '11 Clara Kim is a junior Government and Music double major. She participates in various music ensembles on campus and works part time at Aroma's Coffeehouse. She is from Princeton, New Jersey, and hopes to work in New York City for a few years before attending graduate school. Clara enjoys playing the piano and cello, reading, listening to music, and watching movies. Clara is interning at the U.S. Department of State: Bureau of East and Pacific Affairs.
	Stephen Marietta '11 Stephen Marietta is a junior International Relations major. He is from Manalapan, New Jersey and aspires to become either a Foreign Service Officer or a professor of liberal arts. He is active in organizations such as College Partnership for Kids and the Student Mentor Program. In his spare time, he enjoys keeping up with current events, reading, drawing, and chatting with friends. Stephen is interning at the American Enterprise Institute.
	Tim Meadors '11 Timothy Meadors is a sophomore Economics major with an additional focus in government courses. In his time at the College, Timothy has become involved in the College Republicans, College Partnership for Kids, and has volunteered at the Muscarelle Museum of Art. He shows his enthusiasm for running through the running club and is currently training for his second half marathon. Timothy is also very involved in church both on and off campus through the Christian Life Center. He is from Dublin, Virginia, which is located in the Southwest corner of the state in the Appalachians and has thoughts of graduate school in economics . Timothy is extremely dedicated to his friendships, is a fan of the outdoors and hiking, likes to paint in his spare time, and enjoys a strong cup of coffee any time of the day. Tim is interning at the U.S. International Trade Commission.
	Caroline Moh '11 Caroline Moh is a junior History major at the College. She is a member of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society, co-president of the Hispanic Cultural Organization, a program director for the College Partnership for Kids, an editor for the Monitor Journal for International Relations, and a mentor in the Student Mentorship Program. She also works for the Fund for William and Mary. Caroline was raised in six developing countries and as such has both no hometown and a strong desire to work for an international organization after graduation. In her spare time, Caroline mulls over potential thesis topics, reads The Economist, and makes chai muffins and Cuban coffee. Caroline is interning at the Woodrow Wilson Internationla Center for Scholars.
	Matayo Moshi '11 Matayo Moshi is a junior at the College majoring in Government. He is an active member of a variety of organizations and groups on campus including the Young Democrats, International Relations Club, and Lambda Alliance. He is from Adelaide, Australia, and hopes to return to the United States after graduation. He would like to eventually work for either the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, or the World Bank to help alleviate economic hardship in Africa, especially Tanzania, where he grew up. In his spare time, Matayo enjoys reading, catching up on current events, spending time with friends, discussing political issues, and meeting new people. He also enjoys languages and is fluent in Swahili and Spanish. Matayo is interning at the Council on Hemispheric Affairs.
	Celesta Palmer '11 Celesta Palmer is a junior Government major and Sociology minor at the College, which means that she spends much of her time studying the dynamics of political and social systems at Morton Hall. When not studying, she is actively involved with the Wesley Foundation, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Nu Kappa Epsilon Music Sorority, Circle K International, and Tribe College Outreach. A native of Northern Virginia, she looks forward to returning to the fast-paced life of the DC-Metro area after graduation and hopes to use the skills and connections made at the College to become a successful member of the workforce and a passionate graduate student. Celesta is interning at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
	Harrison Roday '13 Harrison Roday is a freshman at the College of William and Mary, and hopes to major in Government and Finance. He is an active member of the Mason School Undergraduate Investment Team and enjoys writing op-eds for The Flat Hat. Born in New York City, Harrison spent his formative years in Richmond, Virginia. In his free time, Harrison enjoys watching the New York Giants, hosting West Wing viewing nights with his hallmates, playing golf, and staying informed. Often, Harrison enjoys conceptualizing public policy with his peers. He looks forward to building on his political and business interests by interning and learning this semester in Washington, DC. Harrison is interning at the Center for American Progress.
	Carter Rosekrans '12 Carter Rosekrans is a sophomore at the College of William & Mary looking to major in International Relations with a minor in Accounting. He is actively involved in a number of organizations on campus, including the Student Chamber of Commerce and the social fraternity Phi Kappa Tau. In Williamsburg, Carter keeps busy with part-time work at a deli and at the National Center for State Courts. Originally from East Lansing, Michigan, he hopes to find a job that allows him to travel after graduation, and may eventually go to law school. In his free time, Carter enjoys running, skiing, reading The Economist, and watching college football. Carter is interning at the Hudson Institute.
	Salil Singhal '11 Salil Singhal is a junior International Relations and Economics double major at the College. He is extremely involved in many organizations on campus, including being an avid member the International Relations Club and helping to organize WMHSMUN, its Model UN conference for high school students. Also within the realm of International Relations, Salil performs research for a professor in the Government Department. Outside of I.R., he is a campus tour guide, and is on the board of the Hindu Students Association and the Student Assembly. Additionally, he is an assistant to the President on Dining Services and is extremely involved with facilitating the relationship between W&M Dining and the students on campus. An out-of-state student from Frederick, MD, Salil aspires to eventually work in the State Department as a Foreign Service Officer. Salil is interning at the U.S. Department of Commerce.
	Michelle Yuan '12 Michelle Yuan is a sophomore at the College of William and Mary, majoring in Government and Environmental Policy. She is kept busy as the vice president of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai Club on campus, and is the event coordinator for the Judo Club. She is also actively involved on campus with organizations such as Invisible Children, International Justice Mission, Committee on Sustainability, and working as an audio visual technician with the Sadler Center. In her almost non-existent free time, Michelle loves traveling, going to concerts, taking notes at museums, scuba diving, and rooting for the Washington Capitals. Michelle is interning at the International Crisis Group.
