For more information on types of protective orders, duration of protective orders, how to obtain a court issued protective order, refer to the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Service's Protective Orders Guide (pdf). Confidential Campus ResourcesThe Haven757-221-2449 The Haven peer advisors can assist students with receiving supportive measures, reviewing options for reporting or adjudication, and connecting with resources in the community. Appointments with the Director or a Peer Advocate can be made online at the Appointment Booking Page. Counseling Center at William & MaryLocation: McLeod Tyler Wellness Center The Counseling Center is the primary mental health service for the campus, and staff are on call 24 hours a day during the academic year to respond to psychological emergencies. including rape, sexual assault or other trauma. Offices are llocated in the McLeod Tyler Wellness Center and open Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Student Health Center at William & MaryPhone: 757-221-2998 The Student Health Center, located in the McLeod Tyler Wellness Center, provides a full-range of primary care services including the evaluation, treatment and prevention of all kinds of acute or chronic physical, mental and social health issues. The Student Health Center provides pregnancy and STI screening and provides Plan B and other emergency contraception through its pharmacy. Please note that the Student Health Center does NOT provide PERK exams. |

Supportive MeasuresSupportive measures are steps taken by the university to prevent retaliation, prevent continuation or recurrence of alleged misconduct, prevent the creation of (or remedy) a hostile or offensive environment, and ensure that all students are able to participate in the university's educational and other programs and activities. Supportive measures can be taken even if you do not wish to file a formal complaint and participate in an investigation/conduct process. Some supportive measures can be taken without other people (including the respondent) knowing about them. Possible supportive measures include:
The university will maintain as confidential any supportive measures provided, to the extent possible. No-contact orders, for example must, by their nature, be disclosed to both the complainant and respondent. |
