Our AmeriCorps program has two components:

Head Start AmeriCorps Program

Have you ever wanted to work with preschoolers? Are you interested in the development of early literacy skills and social-emotional skill development? If so, then this opportunity is for you!

As a part of this service opportunity, you will partner SOE faculty Debbie Ramer and Janise Parker to support WJCC’s Head Start Program or York County preschoolers and their families.

Middle School Program

Are you interested in youth development? If you’re interested in working in an educational setting either during the traditional school day or during out-of-school time hours, this is for you.

Come work with Middle Schoolers who will explore Passion Projects. You will partner with Meredith Kier and Janise Parker from the School of Education and Jana Shelton with Project Discovery from Williamsburg-James City County Community Action Agency to help youth discover more about the things that they love.
