Recognizing Exemplary Community Engagement
W&M Civic & Community Engagement recognizes students, faculty, and community partners for their active citizenship and exemplary community engagement through several awards throughout the year.
Nominations and applications are welcome from our community for the John Lewis Social Justice Award (awarded in February) in December - January, President's Award for Service to the Community (awarded at Convocation) in late spring and early summer, for the James Monroe Prize in Civic Leadership (awarded at Charter Day celebrations) in October, and for the Active Citizenship Awards (awarded in April) in February and March.
Please note that previous winners for the James Monroe Prize, the President’s Award for Service to the Community, or the John Lewis Social Justice Award will not be considered for the other awards.
