Active Citizenship Awards

Each year we recognize outstanding students and organizations for their work in promoting positive, community-driven social change.

There are many ways to work for positive community-driven change and exemplify active citizenship by prioritizing community during your time at William & mary. The Social Change Wheel articulates common paths for students' active citizenship. We share the wheel as a jumping off point, not as a requirement that you fit into this model.

A review committee evaluates applications anonymously based on students' articulated impact on community and modeling of active citizenship. Students may only be recognized once during their time at William & Mary.

Applications for the 2025 Active Citizenship Awards will be posted in Spring 2024.
