Community Engagement Newsletter
Each week, W&M Civic & Community Engagement publishes a newsletter to more than 1,000 students sharing upcoming service, education, and community action opportunities.
Opportunities shared on W&M GivePulse will automatically be added to the newsletter. Community and student organizations may submit opportunities to [[efmiller,Elizabeth Miller]]. Submissions are due by 12 pm on Fridays. Your opportunity will be included in the listserv for up to three weeks.
Recruiting Volunteers
If you are requesting volunteers, please use W&M GivePulse to post your opportunity. GivePulse is William & Mary’s centralized campus platform for community engagement. GivePulse allows university and community organizations to share opportunities with everyone at William & Mary. Community and student organizations can submit projects to our GivePulse page and create their own free GivePulse accounts to recruit and manage volunteers at W&M and beyond. Promoted Opportunities
Opportunities will be posted to the listserv at the discretion of OCE staff. The following opportunities are common on our listserv:
- Volunteer needs of community organizations
- Educational events (such as film screenings and speakers) related to community and social issues
- Jobs and internships related to community engagement
The following opportunities will not be included in the listserv:
- Opportunities in which proselytizing occurs
- Opportunities in which students are asked to serve alcohol or alcohol consumption is a primary function of the event
- Opportunities which occur during William & Mary exam periods
