About Cristen
Cristen holds a B.S. in Advertising and Public Relations with a Business minor from Grand Valley State University in her home state of Michigan; as well as a M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from William & Mary. Born and raised in western Michigan, Cristen moved to Virginia in 2010. She started her career at William & Mary as an Assistant Director of Special Events in the Athletics Department where she helped implement over 20 fundraising events in her first year, including the Lord Botetourt Auction and Tribe Club Pro-Am. Cristen furthered her career by moving to the William & Mary Alumni Association as the Assistant Director of Business Development, where she worked for three years in alumni engagement and event management before moving to the Office of Career Development and Professional Engagement. In her former role at the Office of Career Development and Professional Engagement as Assistant Director-Employer Relations, Cristen focused on recruiting programs, employer engagement, and helping to build brand awareness for employers on campus. In her current role as Associate Director of Creative Careers, Cristen advises students within the creative careers community and plans programs to facilitate education and outreach within creative industries. She also oversees the Ferguson Blair Publishing Seminar and Scholarship.
