Accessible Parking Permits
Individuals who have accessible tags must also display a William & Mary parking permit or a temporary pass to park anywhere on campus, except in metered or timed spaces which are otherwise paid or timed. Individuals displaying accessible tags shall be allowed to park for up to four (4) hours in metered or timed spaces and are exempted from paying parking meter fees during the four (4) hour window. The display of an accessible tag does not authorize anyone to park in spaces that are reserved at all times, designated as service vehicle spaces, or assigned and reserved as part of a special event.
EmployeesPermanent accessible license plates or placards may be obtained from the Division of Motor Vehicles. Faculty and staff with disabilities who need a temporary accessible parking placard (hangtag) should contact the Human Resources office. Employees at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science should contact the Manager of Administrative Services (Watermen's Hall). |
StudentsStudents requiring temporary accessible parking may make application through the Office of the Dean of Students (Campus Center 221-2510). Vehicles displaying appropriate accessible plates or placards may park in any ADA marked, faculty/staff or student space. |
Limited Mobility Shuttle Service (LMSS) is offered through Parking Services after the respective office has completed the vetting process.
Parking ADA Placard Disclosure Assessment
If you have a state DMV issued ADA placard or permanent Disabled license plate please notify Parking Services so that we can update your parking record accordingly. This helps us with assessing the demand for these parking spaces on campus. Our goal is to ensure we keep up with the demand and that spaces are compliant with ADA prerequisites. The easiest way to capture this information is by voluntary self identification. You can email us at parked@wm.edu with Subject "ADA Placard Disclosure" followed by your Banner # (93...) In the body include the Placard type, placard #, date of issue and expiration. In turn we will add this information to the appropriate section of the vehicle registration and current W&M decal.
Current Map of Campus ADA Allocated Spaces
Note: Due to the numerous overlapping construction projects many of our spaces have shifted, we are diligently working on a new 2023 version of the ADA map. We will release no later than Mar 15th. We appreciate your patience while we make these updates in graphic form.
