Labor Code
When purchasing licensed merchandise, either in a retail location or for your distribution, you can be assured that your items are being produced in a socially responsible manner. In order to participate in the William & Mary Licensing Program, licensees are required to sign CLC’s Special Agreement Regarding Labor Codes of Conduct. This Code of Conduct upholds minimium standards for factories and supplies in regards to legal compliance, employment standards including wages and benefits, working hours, child and forced labor, health and safety, harassment or abuse and women’s rights and full disclosure.
Workers Rights Consortium membership
William & Mary is also a member of the Worker’s Rights Consortium (WRC). “The WRC is an independent labor rights monitoring organization, conducting investigations of working conditions in factories around the globe. [Their] purpose is to combat sweatshops and protect the rights of workers to make apparel and other products.”
