About the Program
The School of Education offers both undergraduate and graduate programs to prepare future teachers, counselors, school psychologists, K-12 leaders and higher education leaders. Meaningful field experiences are a critical component of all W&M degree programs. They provide you the opportunity to get out in the workplace and impact the lives of students, families and communities even before you graduate. W&M faculty, students, alumni and partners are constantly working to create new knowledge in the fields of educational theory, practice and policy — then taking that research and developing impactful ways to put it to work in classrooms and clinics.

Noyce Scholars Program
Apply to be a Noyce Scholar if you want to teach math or science to grades K-12. This scholarship can help you earn your certification.
Outcomes
Graduates of W&M's teacher education programs are highly sought by school districts throughout the country and our job placement rate is nearly 100%. But whether or not you choose to make an impact as a teacher, you will have countless job opportunities. Many of our graduates work for non-profit organizations such as the Peace Corps, Amnesty International, UNICEF and other charitable organizations. Alumni have used the skills and experiences gained at W&M to pursue careers in curriculum development, school leadership and policy advocacy work.
Many W&M graduates apply to the School of Education graduate programs in counseling or school psychology, teacher education and higher education administration.
