Recognition of Pain Within Different Racial Identities
About Elyssa
Elyssa is a senior majoring in Neuroscience a minoring in Biochemistry. She has been working in Dr. Dickter's lab since January of 2022 because of her interest in learning more about navigating and reducing social prejudice after taking Dr. Dickter's COLL 100: Underrepresented Scholars in the Academy. So far, she has worked on coding using SPSS Software and has been trained on how to use an electrocephalogram (EEG). Currently in Dr. Dickter's lab, she is helping with data collection on a project that uses the EEG to examine how our brains recognize pain in people with different racial identities, which can aid in the medical treatment of Black individuals.
