Johnny received his Bachelors Degree in Theatre Arts from Monmouth College. He received his MLitt degree in Shakespeare Studies from Mary Baldwin University and MFA in performance from Mary Baldwin University. He has been a professional lighting designer in theatres across Illinois, Iowa, and Virginia since 2017. He has also been teaching technical design and performance based classes since 2017 in high schools and universities.
Recent Lighting Designs include: for The Silo (Queen City Theatre Co), 12 Dates of Christmas (Silverline Theatre Exchange), Fiddler on the Roof (The Performing Arts Academy), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Meadowlark Shakespeare Players), The Duchess of Malfi (Treehouse Shakespeare Ensemble), Fairview (Mary Baldwin University), Intimate Apparel (MBU), Small Mouth Sounds (MBU), The Wreck: A Devised Musical (MBU), Mary Poppins (KPD Community Theatre), Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (KPDCT), 25th Annual...Spelling Bee (KPDCT).
