Marc Sher is a Professor in the Department of Physics, with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. His research interests include electroweak interactions, Higgs phenomenology, cosmological phase transitions, astrophysics, and supersymmetry.

Among his many contributions, he has served on the department's Undergraduate Committee (2015-17) and on the Arts & Sciences Educational Policy Committee (2015-18, currently acting chair), Committee on Academic Status (chair, 2002-06 and 2011-13) and GER6 Committee (1997 to present). He has also served on the editorial board of Physical Review D and, as a member of a National Science Foundation panel, made recommendations for Physics Frontier Centers.
