Curriculum

Graduate students who wish to obtain NIAHD's certificate in Public History will complete the following requirements:

  • Either HIST 590: Public History (fall) or HIST 590: Public History in the 21st Century (Spring).  These seminars, which are offered each academic year, meet once a week for three hours.
  • An internship in Public History. This internship, which would be arranged or approved by NIAHD, could be completed over the summer so as not to interfere with graduate coursework, M.A. research portfolios, or Ph.D. comps.
