Sophia Serghi, Professor of Composition, was interviewed recently on NPR's "With Good Reason." As a composer, Professor Serghi sees her work as translation. She says that music is the universal language that can translate our most painful and vulnerable experiences.Serghi began composing at age 5 - a time when "all of the senses were on overload, needing desperately to express themselves."
