Arabic Studies Courses
Most of our courses require some training in Arabic. The exceptions are
- ARAB 100, the COLL100 course exploring big questions in Arabic Studies,
- ARAB 101, Elementary Arabic I, our course for beginning Arabic speakers,
- ARAB 309, Survey of Arabic Literature in Translation, and
- ARAB 310, Topics in Modern Arabic Literature in Translation.
Our recent topics courses have explored Islamophobia, the Egyptian revolution, Arab food, and Sudanese culture. In addition to Modern Standard Arabic language instruction, we offer dialect courses to introduce you to the rich diversity of Arab cultures and societies.
