New Faces
Anya, a phonologist, received her Ph.D. at the University of California at Santa Cruz; for her dissertation, she gathered data from speakers of Norwegian as evidence for the stress system. She will teach Study of Language, Phonetics and Phonology, and a topics course.
Ken, a sociolinguist, has received his Ph. D. from New York University; his thesis examines the linguistic markers and cognitive structures used to construct narrative frames and fictional identities in fantasy role-playing games. He will teach History of English, Study of Language, Language and Society, and a Topics course.
