2017 Linguistic Institute to be in Kentucky
The Linguistic Society of America has two types of summer schools. In even years, CoLang offers courses on language documentation and reclamation. The next CoLang will be in 2018 in Gainesville, Florida. In odd years, the Linguistic Institute offers specialized courses that are especially appropriate for those considering graduate school in linguistics.
The 2017 Linguistic Institute will be held at the University of Kentucky in Lexington from July 5 to August 1. Over 70 different linguistics courses will be offered, in addition to workshops and conferences. (Professors Charity Hudley and Martin are both scheduled to offer courses.)
A limited number of fellowships are offered to LSA members. The due date is Feb. 1. Early bird registration for the Institute itself is March 1, 2017.
