Program in Material Culture & Public History
The National Institute of American History & Democracy (NIAHD) is a partnership between William & Mary and The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. In 2002, NIAHD began its certificate program in Public History & Material Culture and this program is open to undergraduates interested in understanding museums, cultural heritage, historic artifacts, and the history of the built environment. St Andrews Joint Degree Program
Prospective freshmen who know they will major in history may be interested in the Joint Degree Program with the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Students in this program complete two years at each institution and earn a single diploma--a Bachelor of Arts (International Honours)--with the insignia of both institutions.
