Bio
Kathryn M. Looff received her Bachelor's of Arts from Baylor University, majoring in University Scholars, History, and Great Texts of the Western Tradition. Her undergraduate thesis, "The Perils of Power: Thomas Hutchinson, Thomas Gage, and the Perception of Authority: 1770-1775" received highest honors. Kathryn is a two-time Hertog Foundation Fellow and the recipient of multiple undergraduate honors, such as the Undergraduate Research and Scholar Achievement Grant for undergraduate thesis research through Baylor University, and outstanding senior in both the History Department and the Honors College.Kathryn's current research focuses on power and power dynamics in Early America, specifically relating to the establishment of authority though means such as translation, social roles, and ownership. She is currently an Editorial Apprentice at the Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture.
