Bio
Sydney's dissertation explores the relationship between loggers in the Bay of Honduras and on the Mosquito Coast to the broader Caribbean through the production and export of mahogany and logwood. It highlights the ways that local logging communities crossed imperial boundaries, shaped international geopolitics, and connected them to the broader Caribbean. Sydney received her B.A. in History from University of West Georgia. She holds an M.A. in History from Virginia Tech where her research focused on fiscal policy and taxation in the early United States.
