Tribefunding Campaign for Student Diversity Fellows
Join our Tribefunding Campaign! On November 1, 2021, the Government Department began raising funds to support our new Student Diversity Fellows Program. Funds raised will be used to provide a stipend to each student fellow. We are excited to work with our student fellows to make our classrooms more inclusive, to more purposefully diversify our syllabi, and to be a formal conduit for student input and concerns. Please consider joining us in supporting our Department in this critical work. The campaign ends on December 17, 2021. You can donate to the fund here.
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion, the Department of Government voted on August 28, 2020, to establish a Student Diversity Fellows program and to provide a stipend to each of the fellows for their work. We did so primarily to respond to our Black students’ calls to address systemic racism and structural inequality in the United States and around the world, and the Department’s and College’s role in perpetuating these systems of oppression. The diversity fellows provide a formal mechanism for direct communication between students and faculty in the Government Department. Having completed one year of the program, we are excited to collaborate further with students on this important work.
